All students are required to take the College Placement Test after admission to the School and before registering for classes. Students whose test results show a need for special course work in reading, writing and/or mathematics will be required to complete basic skills courses in the appropriate area(s).

The following students need not take the Basic Skills
College Placement Test:

•	Those who have received a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
•	Those who have taken the New Jersey College Placement Test within one year of acceptance to Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center Schools of Nursing, Medical Imaging and Therapeutic Sciences. The scores must reflect no remedial requirements.
•	Those who have received transfer credit at Union County College/Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center Harold B. & Dorothy A. Snyder Schools for one semester of English Composition and one semester of college-level math (non-remedial).
•	Those who have earned combined SAT scores of 1000 or higher.

The College Placement Test is administered at Union County College on scheduled dates throughout each year. These dates are included with the student’s mailed acceptance packet. The student is responsible to take the test shortly after admission to the School, but must first complete the acceptance process with Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center Harold B. & Dorothy A. Snyder Schools. No fee is charged for the test. Union County College will send an appointment card to take the examination after the student has completed the acceptance process and is admitted to Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center Harold B. & Dorothy A. Snyder Schools.

The Schools of Nursing, Radiography, Nuclear Medicine and Union County College will deny registration to students who refuse to take the College Placement Test without appropriate exemption.

Students not speaking English as their native language may be required to take English as a Second Language Program (ESL). The Schools of Nursing, Radiography, Nuclear Medicine Technology and Union County College reserve the right to deny registration to such students if they refuse to follow recommendations.
