Clinical education is provided at Muhlenberg Regional
Medical Center, JFK Medical Center, Morristown Memorial
Hospital, Somerset Medical Center, Mountainside Hospital,
Jersey Shore Medical Center, Syncor Radiopharmacy and
Nycomed-Amersham Radiopharmacy. Students are assigned
to two different hospitals for about 6 months each, along
with a three-week assignment to one of the radiopharmacies.
Students are required to complete a specific number of
clinical competencies during their clinical education.
During clinical training students first observe procedures,
then perform them under direct supervision of a certified
nuclear medicine technologist. After demonstrating competency,
the student is then allowed to perform the procedure under
indirect supervision.
