ATTENDANCE POLICY
Students are required to be in attendance for all class, clinical
and laboratory sessions. Penalties for non-attendance and/or
flagrant absenteeism and/or tardiness are reflected in a student’s
grades and are outlined in the Student Handbook. CHANGES
OF SCHEDULE (ADD/DROP)
Limitations on section size and available instructional resources
make it impossible for each student to arrange a schedule which
will meet his/her personal convenience in each instance. The
student’s academic obligations must take precedence over
personal commitments, including part-time work. The program
officials make every attempt to provide students with a schedule
that is reasonable, but each student is reminded that attendance
in the radiography program is a full-time commitment. Changes
in a student’s schedule are made through the Office of
Registration and Enrollment at the Schools of Nursing, Medical
Imaging & Therapeutic Sciences or the Educational Director,
Schools of Medical Imaging & Therapeutic Sciences. Student
initiated changes in class schedules will incur a schedule change
fee. SPECIALTY ROTATIONS
During the second year of the program, students are assigned
to rotations of observation in the specialty areas; i.e. nuclear
medicine, radiation therapy, mammography, digital vascular imaging,
computerized tomography/MRI and diagnostic medical sonography.
Students are encouraged to research specialty disciplines and
pursue educational programs in areas of interest. (The Schools
of Medical Imaging and Therapeutic Sciences currently offers
a program in Nuclear Medicine Technology).
Graduates are encouraged to enroll in baccalaureate programs
following graduation. Currently, there is an articulation with
Thomas Edison State College. Graduates have been admitted to
Rutgers University, Kean University, Montclair State University
and other four-year schools.
