All members of the School of Radiation Therapy have the right to
appeal certain decisions. The School of Radiation Therapy makes a
distinction between acts involving academic matters and other
conduct that may be subject to disciplinary action.
The school guarantees to all students due process relative to both
academic and non-academic disciplinary actions. This guarantee is
effected through appeals process of the School of Radiation Therapy.
They are described in the
Student Handbook.
Infractions of rules and regulations made known by the School of
Radiation Therapy authorities, Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center or
its clinical affiliates, local, state or federal government officials
may lead to disciplinary action.
The school and all students are held responsible for knowing the
contents of the Student Handbook. Failure to read these publications
or posted official notices of the school does not excuse members of
the school community from the rules and regulations in effect.
The Student Handbook is distributed upon acceptance to the program.
When a candidate accepts enrollment to the School of Radiation Therapy
he/she submits a signed statement that acknowledges receipt of the
Handbook and that the student understands and will abide by the rules
and regulations set forth in it.
Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center School of Radiation Therapy, Union
County College and Thomas Edison State College, while jointly conducting
the Amplified Radiation Therapy program, remain autonomous institutions
and establish their own policies and procedures. In most instances,
academic policies are identical.
The major areas of difference in policy, in which the Muhlenberg Regional
Medical Center School of Radiation Therapy policy does not take precedence
include: procedures and processes related to non-radiation therapy courses
(those taken at a Union County College or Thomas Edison State College
campus as opposed to Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center) and conduct on the
Union County College or Thomas Edison State College campus that is subject
to disciplinary action and the associated Union County College or Thomas
Edison State College judicial process.
Therefore, all students, being dually enrolled in all three institutions,
must be knowledgeable of their rights and responsibilities not only at
Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, but also at Union County College and
Thomas Edison State College. Every student is, therefore, advised to become
familiar with the Union County College Student Handbook, the Thomas Edison
State College Student Handbook, the Union County College Catalog, the Thomas
Edison State College Catalog and other college publications.
