Entrance Test Information

ALL applicants must take the TEAS V Entrance Test. Results of the entrance test are considered along with the quality of the applicant’s transcripts (particularly the applicant’s Grade Point Average in relevant courses), letters of reference and essay, in determining acceptance to the JFK Medical Center Muhlenberg Snyder Schools.

The entrance test measures basic essential skills in Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and Language Usage. The test questions are multiple choice. The fundamental question the exam attempts to answer is, "How well is a student academically prepared for learning nursing-related or medical imaging-related content?”

The Reading section will require the applicant to interpret data, analyze and draw conclusions from data, as well as apply concepts to a variety of situations. It will also measure the reading comprehension level.

The Mathematics section includes whole numbers and integers, fractions and decimals, percents, ratios and proportions, algebra, measurement, and graphs and diagrams.

The Science portion of the TEAS V includes science reasoning, life science, human body science, chemical science, physical science, and general science.

The English and Language Usage section includes punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words, and spelling.
